A welcome message from the Rabbi

An introduction to who we are and why we’re here.

Why we’re here

A new kind of Jewish community

70–75% of Jews in New South Wales don’t belong to a synagogue.

Many have never felt at home in traditional Jewish spaces.

In a world where antisemitism is rising, the answer is not to shrink back but to rise up, connect, and reclaim our Jewish identity with pride.

Rabbi On Demand was born to meet people where they are – literally and spiritually. We believe Jewish life should be accessible, meaningful, and deeply personal. Whether it’s a baby naming, a Shabbat dinner, a Zoom learning session, or simply a question you’ve always wanted to ask a rabbi, we’re here for you – on your terms.

We're here to make Jewish life accessible, relevant and meaningful to YOU - wherever you are.

Post-October 7, our mission feels even more urgent. The world is changing. Our response is to strengthen identity, build community, and stand together with courage and connection. Join us. Rediscover your Jewish self.
Because Judaism isn’t just for the synagogue – it’s for you – wherever you are.

MEET RABBI

I believe Judaism is G-d’s infinite wisdom — which means it must be able to speak to every life, in every place, at every time.

Meet Rabbi Yossi

“I believe Judaism is G-d’s infinite wisdom — which means it must be able to speak to every life, in every place, at every time.”

Becoming a Rabbi wasn’t always my plan, in fact, my grandmother was adamant that it wasn’t a job for a good Jewish boy, especially not her grandson! But from a young age, my love for Judaism was undeniable. At just 6 years old, I was the leading child soloist at Sydney’s South Head Synagogue during the High Holidays. Over the years, I began to lead both youth and adult services over Shabbat and the High Holidays, and in my late teens, I was hired as Ba’al Koreh (weekly Torah reader) at the Central Synagogue.
